Top Five Romantic Holiday Tips for a Great Getaway
|
Even if you are not on your honeymoon, sometimes you just want to go away with your loved one for a fantastic week or two at a luxury holiday destination. Here are five tips to help you get the maximum romance potential from your special holiday. By Meghan Burton Whether you are getting away from the kids or just a few nosy pets, you can revamp your romance for this one special getaway. Here are five of my favorite tips to help you get the maximum romance potential out of your luxury holiday. Even if you are not going on a holiday, these tips can help you find a little extra romance in your normal life. 1. Have an adventure. Whether you are exploring a new city, an archaeological ruin, or just an unfamiliar street together, discovering new and exciting places can bind you together as a couple in a way that few other things can. If you are on holiday, you will want to experience everything your luxury holiday destination has to offer. Poking around without a tour guide could lead to some great discoveries and you will have come upon them together, creating fun memories. 2. Go out for a fancy dinner date. What says romance better than a fancy dress, a suit, and an expensive meal? It may be consumerism, but it works. Nothing will get you in the mood more quickly than a silky red dress that you know makes you look fantastic. Even if you cannot afford the fanciest restaurant in the city, dress up anyway. The servers have seen it all before and you will love the admiring glances the two of you attract. Feeling as if you are on a date can remind you of the early days of your relationship and bring back the passion and excitement of a new relationship. 3. Plan a night in - with a romantic film and a candlelit dinner you make together. This is one of the best ideas I can think of for romance in any place. Say you are nature lovers and head off to a self-catering cabin for the weekend, where you have to make all your own food. This is the perfect opportunity for you to choose luxurious ingredients that perhaps you would not bother with in normal life. Open up a bottle of wine and enjoy the best food that you can possibly make together. Even if you are just looking to ramp up the romance of a night at home, this is a fantastic idea. 4. Go for a walk at twilight. Hold hands and pretend you are teenagers again. Find the most beautiful spot in your destination and watch the sun set together. This is perfect for beach holidays in particular. You will be surprised at how romantic a long walk on the beach truly is, but it also works if you are just strolling down a tree-lined street or a city block. What is important is simply setting aside time to enjoy each other's company. 5. Have breakfast in bed. Whether you order in room service or one of you gets up and makes breakfast, this is the perfect prelude to a romantic morning spent in bed. Settle in for some leisurely time together and resolve not to get up until noon - ignore everything else and just luxuriate together. About the Author: Meghan Burton is a professional copywriter.
