My First Bed and Breakfast Experience: Would I Do It Again?
I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. I really wasn't sure what to expect, since staying at a bed and breakfast means you are sharing a home with someone. It was definitely something that I felt was going to be an unusual experience.

I have always been fascinated with architecture and old world-style, especially from the Victorian age. So as you can imagine, something like staying at a bed and breakfast is something I have always wanted to do, but I had never actually done it before, up until a couple of years ago.

While my fiance and I were planning our wedding, I suggested for our honeymoon that we stay at a bread and breakfast and she thought it sounded like a splendid idea.

I then went online and started to search on all of the B and Bs that we could travel to. After reading the reviews on dozens upon dozens of them, I finally found one near the Bruce Peninsula, near Irish Mountain. Since I was Irish myself and had a great fascination with this culture, this could not have been more ideal for me.

I really wasn't sure what to expect, as I had always stayed in hotels before and since staying at a bed and breakfast means you are sharing a home with someone. It was definitely something that I felt was going to be an unusual experience.

When we arrived, we were greeted by the woman who owned the house, Jeanette. She was extremely friendly and showed us our room, which was exceptionally beautiful with a king-size bed and a hot tub right outside on the deck. We spent a lot of time out on the deck and in the hot tub, taking in the breathtaking view of the mountainside and the lake below it.

In the morning, the mist would rise off of the mountain and we enjoyed the incredible breakfast that they brought to our room. We had an array of fruits, waffles, and eggs. It was unlike anything I had ever eaten before and the presentation was quite beautiful.

I have to say that there are many benefits to staying at a bed and breakfast and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I have ever had. All of my cars were far away while I was there. Our hosts were extremely generous and gave us many helpful tips for sightseeing around the area, which we enjoyed thoroughly.

In the end, what I found the most fascinating of all is the fact that it cost us no more to stay at this place than it would have if we had decided to get a hotel room. That is what is most striking about many of these B and Bs: most of them are quite affordable.
