There probably are worse things that could happen to you than being stuck in an airport, but when you are waiting to leave, it doesn't seem like there could be. Luckily, there are ways to escape the boredom of being trapped in an air terminal. By Daniel Pott Nothing is more exasperating than being stuck in an airport when you have important things to do. There probably are worse things that could happen to you, but when you are sitting in that airport waiting to leave, it doesn't seem like there could be. You would rather be anywhere else than sitting in that terminal. Luckily, for almost everybody, there are some ways to escape the boredom of being trapped in that interminable terminal. You might already have a gadget with you and not even realize it. A cell phone can sometimes effectively keep you busy for a good while. Many cell phones have a lot of things on them that have nothing to do with talking. However, talking is really not a bad idea while waiting. You could be catching up with people while sitting anywhere. You can likely even surf the net with your cell phone, just like your computer. Some phones allow you to listen to music or watch a downloaded movie. It is generally a tiny little screen to watch anything on, but if you have some headphones, you can really transport yourself away by immersing yourself while a story unfolds on your phone. About the only thing that would do a better job transporting you to a different world is a book. You could carry a book along with you, toting it in your carry-on or in your back pocket. However, there are better ways to read a book now, ways that are a little more convenient. You can pack a tablet that is made for downloading books. You can also run the same programs on your cell phone or on your laptop. You are going to be carrying those things around with you anyways, so they don't add anything to the amount that you have to bring with you. Downloading books is also possible with some other devices like IPods or MP3 players. They are small, so that means you will have less things in your pocket - but also a smaller space from which to read. A laptop is likely the best type of tech gadget to have with you when you are stuck waiting. You can read a book, watch a movie, or play games on your computer.
