These discounts have not only increased volume for their businesses, but have created a unique Internet subculture, consisting of many travel websites. Here, people exchange discount codes and discuss promotional rates, so the traveler can find the best deal on car rentals at that point in time. Most organizations of over 100 individuals can qualify for some sort of discount. These discount programs are available to all classes of businesses including government organizations and non-profit groups. The programs often offer additional benefits on top of the discounted prices. If your company does not yet take advantage of these offers, make a suggestion. A few of the biggest organizations have added other benefits that can be negotiated into the rental price. Certain rental companies, such as Hertz or Avis, provide special business rates, and often compete against one another to do business with a certain company. Some companies offer these businesses promotions such as free fuel fill-ups, waiving of one-way fees, or insurance at no additional cost, and even offer to upgrade businesses into corporate discount contracts in return for agreeing to business deals lasting multiple years. Make sure that you aren't using discount codes in a manner that violates rental agreements. Some company discount codes can only be used by certain employees or departments, but many group discounts are free for any employee to use. They are not just for business organizations, either. There are group discounts for members of Costco, Citibank credit card clients, Sam's Club members, GEICO insurance policy-owners, and even people who buy Entertainment Books. The Entertainment Books are chock full of some very lucrative coupons, and even contain some corporate discounts. With a little searching, you should be able to locate rental coupons for free refills on gas, discounted prices for rentals lasting at least a week, or complementary upgrades on your next rental. Locate any available discounts for your car rentals before starting your travel planning. Compile a list of potential discounts, and then request quotes for each one. The discounts you receive will vary by the make and model of car, the day of week, and the location and season in which you will be driving. Diligence in locating travel deals is important; spending even an hour locating discounts on hotels and car rentals can save large amounts of money, depending upon the length of the trip and the number of people and vehicles involved. Keep in mind that the more you look, the better your chances of finding a rate that is available to you not just for one trip, but also for every time you travel.
